Two men yesterday disappeared leaving behind a bag containing 15 pounds of marijuana at Sandvoort, West Canje, Berbice.
According to a police source, around 17:00 hrs yesterday ranks were responding to a report in Sandvoort when they noticed two men some 300 feet away carrying a yellow bag. Upon seeing the police, the men began to walk at a fast rate, so the ranks chased after them.
The men then disappeared into some bushes. The police carried out a search and found the bag the men had been carrying, which contained 15 pounds of marijuana. They did not find the men.
The police are carrying out further investigations in an effort to arrest the two men.
