Girl, 4, killed, five injured in two-car crash at Mahaicony

A two car-smash-up on along the Mahaicony Public Road, East Coast Demerara yesterday afternoon has left one child dead and five persons injured.

Dead is four-year-old Raveena Harris.

Harris died on spot while the injured were taken to the Mahaicony Hospital and later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH). They have been identified as Rafeena Harris (Raveena’s sister), Karmao Harris (their mother), Carlson Fattette, Samantha Bowlin and Latoya Wayne, a reporter at Little Rock television station.

According to reports reaching Stabroek News, Bowlin was driving her car, PRR 1766, east along the East Coast Public Road when she negotiated a turn and collided with PSS 5092 which was being driven by Fattette.

Bowlin’s car ended up in a trench.

Wayne reportedly sustained broken ribs, while Rafeena and her mother are said to be in critical condition.
