Students of the Grove Primary School will benefit from a rehabilitated access road when they return to school in two weeks’ time, GINA says.

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure’s Special Projects Unit recently upgraded the previous loam road to an asphalted structure.

Speaking with GINA, Head of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure’s Special Projects Unit, Lawrence Mentis said that the rehabilitation work on the road came in light of government’s plan to provide schools, hospitals, public offices and courts with proper access roads “to bring them (up) to standard.”

Mentis said that the road is “now fully surfaced with asphalt and is expected to last a life expectancy of a minimum of 15 years once the shoulders and drains are maintained and the weight limit is adhered to.”
