Woman held over stabbing of Buxton man

The woman who allegedly stabbed her child’s father on Monday night is now is police custody after she was arrested late Tuesday night.

Paul Kelman, 31, a construction worker, was at his girlfriend’s relative on Monday night imbibing when his child’s mother and her sister arrived and started an argument.

He had related to Stabroek News that in an attempt to quell the noise he had taken the woman from the yard to the roadside.

However, the woman had pulled out a knife and stabbed him in his abdomen.

He was then rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was treated and is currently still admitted in the male ward.

While the woman remained elusive for a day, Stabroek News was told yesterday by the man that the police had arrested her sometime late Tuesday night. She is currently in custody assisting with the investigation.

Kelman related that he is feeling much better but still has more time in the hospital. “I still feel weak but I am better now and the doctor said they have more work to do because my intestines and all were damaged,” he said.
