An 18- year-old was yesterday stabbed several times in the region of his abdomen by his neighbour who had threatened to end his life.
Injured is Andre Bob of ‘C’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
Stabroek News was told by the young man’s mother Doris (only name give), that he was attacked by the neighbour and two others in the vicinity of Stabroek Market.
The mother related that her son was making his way to her workplace at the city constabulary when he was attacked by the neighbour and two others.
According to a friend, they were at Demico when Bob was attacked. The friend added he saw Bob fall and someone asked “Oh the right person? And when I turn around I see two man over he and start juking.” He was stabbed with an icepick.
The friend said the attackers escaped and he rushed Bob to the George-town Public Hospital where he is currently receiving medical attention and is in a stable condition.
The mother recalled that her son and the neighbour had a misunderstanding and were involved in a fight on Wednesday. She stated that it is the third time the neighbour made threats to end her son’s life and burn their house. The woman said she made a report at the Turkeyen Police Station but was told no patrol was available.
The mother is fearful for both of their lives.
