PI continues into MFK murder conspiracy charge

The preliminary inquiry (PI) into the charge against Leon Lindo, who is charged with conspiracy to murder late businessman Mohamed Khan, continued on Tuesday with the evidence of the secretary of attorney Nigel Hughes.

Lindo, who was attached to the Tactical Services Unit (TSU), was charged in 2015 with conspiracy to commit the murder.

According to the charge, between July 8 and July 10, 2014, at Eve Leary, Lindo allegedly conspired with Lennox Wayne to murder Khan.

The PI, which continued before Magistrate Judy Latchman, saw Shellon Madray, the secretary for Hughes, at the Hughes, Fields and Stoby law firm, giving evidence as it related to the different days in 2014 that Khan would have either had an appointment with the attorney or went in hopes of seeing him.

Madray was later cross-examined by Lindo’s attorney, Glenn Hanoman.

The matter was then adjourned by the Magistrate to October 6.

Lindo was implicated in Khan’s death after he was identified by alleged hitman Wayne as one of the persons who was responsible for the murder of the businessman.

Khan was the owner of MFK trading. Between July 8 and July 10, 2014, the businessman was shot and on August 21, he went missing. On September 21 of that same year, a headless body was discovered at Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara.

One of the legs from the corpse was missing from the knee down, while the other foot of the other leg was apparently severed. His head, which was in a plastic bag, was found nearby.

Samples were then taken from the body and were sent for analysis. The results confirmed that the remains were those of Khan.
