Bids opened for rehabilitation of Hope Bridge

Bids were opened yesterday at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board for rehabilitation of Hope Bridge, East Coast Demerara. The initial contract for the construction of the bridge was awarded to Dipcon Engineering to the tune of $349.6 million with consultancy for the entire project provided by CEMCO Engineering and SRKN’engineering, in association with Mott Mc Donald pegged at $64 million. However, after about a year, it began to deteriorate and efforts were sought to have it rehabilitated. During yesterday’s tender opening only three companies bid for the contract to fix the Hope Bridge.
