Mechanic charged with selling parts of bike he was supposed to repair

A South Ruimveldt man was on Thursday charged with selling parts of a motorbike that was given to him to repair.

Codette Marshall, 36, was brought before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on the charge that between March 1 and March 31, at Georgetown, he, being entrusted with a Honda motorcycle valued at $230,000 and which was the property of Andrew Richardson, in order to repair it, instead converted it for his own use and benefit.

Marshall pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecution made no objection to bail but noted that only the frame of the motorcycle was recovered at the home of Marshall.

Chief Magistrate McLennan granted him his release on $75,000 bail and adjourned the matter to October 21.
