Amcar, which began harvesting and canning Hearts of Palm in Guyana since 1987, said it had recently added byproducts of açai berry, pineapple, mango and other tropical fruits to its product range.

The company said its two factories in Region One (Barima/Waini) provide employment for 85 staff as well as some 200 freelance pickers.

Amcar’s Heart of Palm is canned specifically for export, mainly to Europe.

Meanwhile, according to the press release, the company is scheduled to attend another expo in France this month.
