The bullet-riddled body a Brazilian miner was found at Port Kaituma in the North West District on Thursday afternoon.
The dead man has been identified as 43-year-old Mario Pozzer.
According to Commander of ‘F’ Division Ravindradat Budhram, Pozzer’s body was found at 10 Miles, Port Kaituma. It was discovered around 5pm on Thursday by persons who were using the road.
From all indications, Budhram said, the man was travelling to the backdam when he was gunned down. He was found next to the ATV he was using to get to his camp.
Investigators have since travelled to the miner’s camp to question workers about possible motives for the killing.
