The town of Bartica has announced the appointment of Phoebe Wallerson as Town Clerk of the Municipality, a release from the Ministry of Communities said yesterday.
The appointment will deepen concerns that the APNU+AFC government has delayed the appointment of the Local Government Commission (LGC) to give it a free hand in the naming of key officials such as town clerks. The LGC is supposed to make these appointments but a number have already been done by the ministry.
