Hodge, 22, of Lot 482 Good Intent, West Bank Demerara, reportedly fell from a scaffold last Wednesday while working on a Texila American University construction site at Providence.

Terrence Esseboom, Public Relations Officer of the Social Protection Ministry, told Stabroek News that the Labour Department has already completed a preliminary report and is working to complete the final report. He pointed out the department took statements from workers who were on site when the accident occurred and would be returning to speak with a few others before completing the report.

Hodge, who was on the scaffold with two others, reportedly lost his balance and fell. Immediately after the accident, Hodge was rushed to the Diamond hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Hodge was laid to rest on Monday.
