A woman is now nursing a gunshot wound to her jaw after she was accidentally shot by her husband while he was cleaning his gun.
According to Commander of ‘D’ Division Leslie James, around 12.30 pm yesterday at Boodhoo Scheme, West Bank Demerara, 26-year-old Ovita Jagmohan was laying on her bed with her husband, Deonarine Jagmohan, who was cleaning his licensed gun at the time.
James said the gun accidentally went off and Ovita was shot to the left side of her jaw. She was rushed to the Woodlands Hospital, where she remains a patient in a stable condition. Her husband has since been arrested. His gun has also been lodged with the police.
