The decomposed body of a 75-year-old man was yesterday discovered afloat in a Goedverwating trench after he was reported missing for 19 days.
Karam Ramdass, a father of 8 of Lot 26 Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara, was discovered by a family friend around 8am yesterday. He was identified by the clothes he was last seen in.
One of Ramdass’ daughters stated that her father went missing on November 16 and since that date the family had filed a missing person report with the police and placed a missing person ad via television and other mediums.
Another daughter mentioned that her father would sometimes go walking but never for such a lengthy period.
“He would always come back and always with a lil something” she said.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted on the pensioner sometime today.
