Over 600 passengers delayed by Dynamic woes here and in NY

Over 600 passengers were yesterday delayed at both the JFK Airport in New York and the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri after two Dynamic Airways planes encountered problems.

In a statement yesterday, Dynamic spokesman,  Captain Gerry Gouveia of Roraima Airways expressed his concern at the Dynamic Airways situation which he said has affected its passengers both here in Guyana and USA.

According to Gouveia, a plane which was destined to Guyana, while it was at JFK, was hit on the left engine casing by a ground handling truck.

He maintained that engineers have been deployed to the affected aircraft and they were working around the clock to return the aircraft to service.

Moreover, a second aircraft which has served as a back up to the first Boeing 767, experienced a maintenance issue after it had done two flights. Gouveia stated that the problem with this plane was currently being rectified by maintenance teams.

Gouveia in his statement said that he was really sorry that the events occurred at this time but would like to assure passengers that every effort was being made to resolve the delay.

When Stabroek News contacted the Captain, he said that passengers have been informed of the reasons for the delay. He said a total of three hundred passengers each on both sides, Georgetown and New York have been affected.

Some irate passengers have taken to social media to complain about the  carrier. The delays in the flights were said to have started on Friday evening when passengers at JFK turned up ready to board their flight to Guyana that would have arrived Saturday morning. They were told that there was going to be a delay in the flight.
