T&T PM not dismissing minister over crime spike

(Trinidad Express) Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley said he has no intention to dismiss National Security Minister Edmund Dillon, despite the escalating crime situation in Trinidad and Tobago.

Speaking yesterday during the People’s National Movement (PNM) sports and family day at Mt Pleasant Grounds in Tobago, Rowley expressed confidence in Minister Dillon, who has held the post since the PNM took office last September.
“I have absolutely no such thought to dismiss Minister Dillon,” said Rowley. “As a matter of fact, the National Security Minister is working very, very effectively in ensuring that we put the country in a position to respond to the crime challenges.”
“It is not just a question of changing a minister,” the Prime Minister added.
