It is alleged that Chase struck down Julian Leitch on Duncan Street, Georgetown, on November 6, 2015.

The charge was instituted days after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) advised police to proceed against Chase.

Stabroek News was told that Chase was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.

The matter will be heard again on March 30.

Leitch died at the Georgetown Hospital, shortly after he was hit near the Survival Supermarket at Vlissengen Road and Duncan Street.

Leitch’s injuries included a fractured skull and a broken neck.

After the accident, Chase had rushed the badly wounded man to the Georgetown Hospital but he died soon after while receiving treatment.
