Ministry of Public Infrastructure should consider roundabouts

Dear Editor,

I was pleased to read a letter by M Alves ‘Why doesn’t Guyana use roundabouts?’ in the March 18 edition of your paper. As a road user, I found myself considering the same question recently while sitting in a long line waiting for the traffic lights to change, only to have it go red before I reach it. I think the points raised by Mr Alves are very valid, as are the locations he identified in his letter.

I wish to support his suggestion and ask that the engineers from the Ministry of Public Infrastructure indicate if such a system is possible, as it would greatly reducing waiting time and ensure a smoother flow of traffic.

Yours faithfully,

D Singh
