I thought that you might be interested in hearing about my 50-year-old Guyana Independence shirt (made by Windsor Shirt Factory), which is still in excellent condition.
I first wore it 50 years ago when Guyana became independent on May 26, 1966.
I was a 20-year-old man and was there at the National Park (the Queen Elizabeth Park). I was happy to wear it again for our 50th flag-raising ceremony on Wednesday-Thursday. The attached pictures (with front and back views of the shirt) were taken at my office on Wednesday, May 25, a few hours before going to D’Urban Park for the flag-raising ceremony.
