The GCB is not sleeping on the job

Dear Editor,

I am amazed at the unrelenting pomposity of Claude Raphael and Winston Boston. Mr Raphael was a one-term director of the WICB; he attended three meetings of the board in the entirety of the two years that he served. He even tried to get the PPP government to nationalise the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB). He is currently attempting to get Caricom to do his bidding.

Mr Raphael, Bissoondyal Singh and Roger Harper, must understand that Caricom is not the PPP government. I take this opportunity to tell the Guyana Cricket Board congratulations. If they continue to push ahead their success will know no bounds. The realization will soon dawn upon these individuals that the GCB is not sleeping on the job.

The question Mr Raphael should answer is why he did call for the dissolution of the WICB while he was a director of it, especially since cricket in the West Indies was dark and grey during that time.

Yours faithfully,

Anand Dyal
