Guyana has lost a true son of the soil

Dear Editor,

Guyana has lost a true and distinguished son of the soil in the passing of Bishop Randolph George. Besides serving as head of the Anglican Church in Guyana for several years, he also played a prominent role in the country’s ethno-cultural development as a result of his strong advocacy for religious and ethnic tolerance. He once served as Chairman of the Ethnic Relations Commission which was established by the previous PPP/C administration.

His was a voice of reason and compassion which won him the admiration of Guyanese from all walks of life.

My condolences to his wife, children, relatives and friends.

May his soul rest in peace!

Yours faithfully,

Hydar Ally
