Why has the killer of Surendra Nauth not been apprehended?

Dear Editor,

I am writing in regard to the case of Surendra Nauth of Albion Front, Corentyne, hoping that this letter catches the eye of the Crime Chief, Mr Wendell Blanhum. On January 18, 2016, Stabroek News reported that Surendra Nauth, 29, was fatally stabbed at a wedding house in Williamsburg by someone who was recently released from prison. After six months, the assailant is still at large, and as far as we are aware, no active investigation is going on to apprehend the individual who committed the crime. It appears to us that the Berbice Police Crime Unit does not seem to care about tracking down the suspect, although there are rumours that he is still living in the area, but discreetly. We are asking Crime Chief Blanhum, given his high rate of success in crime solving, to look into this matter. The wife and two children of Surendra Nauth are still grieving over their loss. They want justice to prevail.

Yours faithfully,
