Spent money on GTT promotion that was not applicable to me

It may have been a smart marketing tactic by GTT, but I put it down in my books as being dishonest and deceptive. On  Friday, October 21, 2016 I received the following text message from GTT:

“ON NOW! Buy top up of $500 or more with Mobile Money & GET 3 TIMES THE TOP UP! Offer ends Sunday Oct 23rd. It’s 3X Top Up today with MMG! Call 0488”.

Silly me I bolted to the nearest MMG vendor, not to buy phone cards or c-point as I would usually do, and topped up with $500, hoping to get “3 TIMES THE TOP UP”. To my surprise there was no multiplication of the top up amount. I thought it may be in my promotional credit balance, so I checked the promotional credit balance on my account, there is nothing there.

Still giving the benefit of the doubt to GTT, I thought there may have been some system malfunction, maybe caused by the constant blackouts currently sweeping the country, so I decided to inquire with the GTT people using the chat on my computer at work, since it takes forever to get an operator on the phone.

To my amazement, I was informed that the 3X top up only applies for those customers that are self topping up using their own MMG account. Where is that stated in the text message I received? Now I am not even a registered MMG customer so why are you sending me messages only applicable to MMG registered account holders, and besides the text message does not indicate this fact.

I am truly disappointed in GTT.
