Fourth annual Benjamin cycle road race set for tomorrow

The Flying Ace Cycling Club (FACC) which is off to a flying start in 2016, recently announced that they will stage their third road race for this month tomorrow in Berbice.

Coach of the club and event organizer, Randolph Roberts disclosed that he has received sponsorship from Benjamin Sports Store to stage a 50-mile road race from Fyrish (in front of the store) to No.51 Village and back.

Tomorrow’s event will be the fourth edition of the race and it is scheduled to roll off at 10:00hrs.

According to Roberts, lucrative prizes will be on offer for the top six finishers, first three juniors, females and veteran cyclists. There will also be eight sprint prizes up for grabs along the grueling trek.

Team Gillette Evolution’s Michael Anthony is the defending champion for the event which is expected to attract the cream of the country’s pedal pushers.

Roberts also told this publication that Director of Sport, Christopher Jones is expected to wave the starter’s flag and send the riders on their journey.
