Defending Open Category champ Jason Ray Khalil as well as Nyron Joseph, Reagan Pollard and Raphael DeGroot were amongst the winners when the Guyana Squash Association-sanctioned Bounty Farm Ltd Handicap Squash Tournament continued on Wednesday.

Staged at the Georgetown Club Facility on Camp Street, Khalil (-25) downed Daniel Islam (+7) 15 – 11, 15 – 14. On the other hand, Joseph (-20) overcame Stephan Jeffrey (+6) 4 – 15, 15 – 12, 15 – 6.

Meanwhile Pollard (-14) brushed aside Anthony Islam (+8) 15 – 10, 15 – 11 and DeGroot (-12) squeaked past Alex Cheeks (+7)15 – 14, 15 – 13.

In other results of the Open category, Jonathan Hohenkirk (+7) fashioned the first upset of the event, downing national player Nicholas Narain (-16) 12 – 15, 15 – 11, 15 – 12. Similarly creating an upset was Ryan Rahaman (+7) who defeated former junior national player Stephan Xavier (-4) 15 – 10, 15 – 13.

Continuing in the same section, Ashley De Groot (+3) defeated Jonathan Antczak (+9) 15 – 11, 11 – 15, 15 – 12, while Henry Jeffrey (+10) defeated Connor Allen (+12) 15 – 11, 15 – 12, Dennis Dias (+10) overcame Johan Da Silva (+10) 15 – 13, 14 – 15, 15 – 9 and Alec Melville (-2) squeaked past Jan Verwey (+10) 5 – 15, 17 – 15, 15 – 13.

The final results of the division saw Brian Yong (+8) defeating John Maikoo (+7) 15 – 7, 15 – 9 while Theron Mohabeer (+7) defeated Robert Hiscock (+10) 15 – 10, 15 – 12, Taylor Fernandes (+5) downed Medhi Ramdhani (+7) 15 – 12, 15 – 6 and Satesh Singh (+7) dismissed Adam Alves (+8) 15 – 14, 15 – 11.

In category-A round of matches, Gianni Carpenter (-6) disposed of Wade Beckles (+12) 15 – 12, 15 – 13 while Lucas Jonas (-1) overcame Michael Alphonso (0) 13 – 15, 17 – 14, 15 – 10 and Ethan Jonas (-3) defeated Louis Da Silva (+12) 15 – 13, 14 – 15, 15 – 13.
