Mae’s Secondary through to knockout round

Mae’s Secondary sealed their berth to the knockout round dismantling Charlestown Secondary 5-0 when the 4th Annual Milo Schools u-20 Football Championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Raheem Hutson netted a brace in the 23rd and 59th minutes while Emmanuel Trotman, Tyrese Payne and Darshan Persaud scored in the 39th, 41st and 58th minutes respectively.

In the opening matchup, St. John’s College downed Tutorial High 2-1. Eon Adams and Joel Taap netted in the 11th and 30th minutes respectively. On target in the loss was Alastair Frank in the sixth minute.

The second fixture of the day witnessed St. Rose’s High squeaking past Freeburg Secondary 2-1. Loncel Martin netted a brace in the 29th and 52nd minutes for the Church Road unit.

Scoring for the losing team was Deron Thom in the 68th minute. St. Rose’s was reduced to 10 men in the 57th minute after Martin was shown a red card. Former champions St. George’s High and Queenstown Secondary battled to a scoreless draw.
