‘We are looking forward to greater things’

The East Bank Football Association (EBFA) in partnership with Ansa McAl officially launched the Stag Beer first division league yesterday at a simple ceremony at Beterverwagting.

The event, which commences tomorrow at the Grove Community ground, will involve seven clubs, Grove Hi-Tech, Herstelling Raiders, Agricola Red Triangle, Soesdyke Falcons, Kuru Kururu Warriors, Diamond United and Mocha Champs.

Tomorrow’s opener with pit the home side against Herstelling while all matches in the championship will be played on Sundays at the same venue.

Speaking on behalf of Ansa McAl, Stag Brand representative Lindon Henry said, “Stag is very pleased to continue its partnership with East Bank football. We have seen the players develop and move on to the Stag Elite League which is in its first year and that we are proud of.

“As a company we are looking forward to even greater things from this year’s league and we wish the competing clubs the best.”

EBFA President Franklin Wilson said, “The EBFA is once again thankful to Ansa McAl and Stag for their investment in our players across the East Bank spectrum.”

“We have seen development of the sport and our players as a result of your investment and for that we are grateful. We commit to continue and improve this trend as a result of this year’s league,” he added.
