Second time’s the charm for Mahadeo

Former national junior table tennis star Dillon Mahadeo is now officially the “The Fittest Man in Guyana” after winning the 2016 E-Networks Fitness Challenge at the National Park on Sunday.

The 20-year-old, who placed second last year in the inaugural event, dead lifted, ran, pressed, pushed and jumped his way to take the title. He amassed a total of 395 points, relegating fellow gladiators, Carlos Mendonca (332) and Marino Jeffrey (328) to second and third place respectively.

Besides one year’s bragging rights, Mahadeo was awarded the champion’s trophy and the $200,000 first prize. The sum of $50,000 went to Mendonca while Jeffrey pocketed $20,000.
