DCC secures first innings against GDF

All-round efforts allowed Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) to secure first inning points against the Guyana Defence bid Force (GDF) in day one of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/General Industrial Supplies Enterprise (GISE)/Trophy Stall/Star Party Rentals 1st Division 2-day finals.

Playing at Bourda, GDF were kept to 163 in their first innings thanks to  all-rounder Chris Barnwell (3-36), left-arm spinner Totaram Bishun (3-38) and seamer Paul Wintz (2-19).

GDF were indebted to contributions from Kevin Ramdeen (23), Ishwar Singh (24), Randy Lahore (25), Romario Shepherd  (22) and Jeremiah Harris (22*).

When play ended, DCC were 184-5 in reply, leading by 21 with the experienced Dennis Squires and wicket-keeper Kemol Savory yet to come off the mark.

Shepherd was the pick of the GDF bowlers with 3-31 while Barnwell scores 70 with 13 fours while Jamal Hinckson’s 47 which included five boundaries was the next vet score for the home team.
