Narine was excellent with the ball finishing with two wickets for 22 runs from four overs to help Knight Riders’ spinners rip through Kings X1 at Punjab Cricket Association Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

He confused Wriddhiman Saha with a ball which kept low and took his bottom edge for Robin Uthappa to take on his second attempt, giving the Trinidad and Tobago spinner his first wicket since his comeback.

Narine’s second victim was Glenn Maxwell who went for four after premeditating a switch-hit but only succeeded in picking out Piyush Chawla at cover

Morne Morkel supported by picking up two for 27 to help restrict Kings X1 Punjab to 138 for eight in 20 overs.

Uthappa scored a 28-ball 53 to put KKR in sight of victory, aided by an opening partnership of 82 with Gautam Gambhir who was dismissed for 34.

KKR have now won three out of their four matches in the IPL and go top of the 2016 table, level on points with Gujarat Lions (GL).
