Golden Jubilee futsal competition launched

In an effort to foster community development, the C & A Unique Incorporated in partnership with South Quakers Ministry officially launched their inaugural Golden Jubilee Futsal Knockout Championship yesterday in the Tucville Community.

Carlos Griffith, Tourney Coordinator said yesterday:”People say the church has no competition and the church not ready but let me tell you church is coming strong and heavy with a presence so all the teams get yourself together.

“Everything is in place for the competition on the 5th of May at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. It’s not only for the men, women don’t feel left out we have the kick to the goal competition.”

The event which commences tomorrow at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, will feature 50 teams from the emanating from the churches and the traditional community teams.

All matches will be 10 minutes in duration and played in a knockout format.

Winner of the tournament will receive $50,000 and the championship trophy while the second placed unit will collect $25,000 and the runners-up accolade.

The third placed team will walk away with $15,000 and the corresponding trophy whilst the fourth placed unit will pocket $10,000 and a trophy. Admission to the event is $400 while children 10 years and under will gain free admission.
