Kings Knight gunning for further glory

Guyana Cup Fever winner, King’s Knight leads the field as the ‘Four Horse Men Promotions’ presents the grand ‘Golden Jubilee Independence’ meet at the Port Mourant Turf Club tomorrow.

The Kentucky-bred chestnut colt raced to victory in its debut race here on March 27 which left the betting fans at the Rising Sun Turf Club in disbelief.

Can the champion race horse take its talents to East Berbice to make it two in two?

The answer to that question will be known tomorrow at the track which is reported to be in good condition despite the recent inclement weather.

King’s Knight will be gunning for the winner’s take which stands at a whopping $1.5M but with the likes of C. P Got Even, Just call Me Boss, Plum Plum,, Princess She Not, Golden Blue Echo, Jack In My Style, American Boss, Lady Budapest and Carrie Azarie breathing down its neck in the feature A and Lower 1900m event, an upset can be on the cards.

The Colin Elcock coordinated meet which kicks off on 12:30hrs will also feature horses classified D3 and lower, H and lower, I and lower, E and lower, F and lower, J and lower and three-year old Guyana and West Indian bred non winners.

In excess of $8M will be at stake, one anticipates a day of heated rivalry among the calvary.
