GCB regrets passing of umpire Sukdeo

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) yesterday sent condolences to the friends, workmates and family of the late Gayanana Sukdeo, one of Guyana’s Regional umpires who passed away on Tuesday.

A release sent by the GCB yesterday highlighted the good nature of Sukdeo who was described as “always pleasant individual, who was ready to assist anyone in whatever way he can.

“His demise is a great loss to the members of the sub-associations across Guyana, the players and officials, we extend our condolences to his family, friends, umpires and the entire cricket fraternity,” the release added.

Sukdeo was part of the junior panel of umpires for the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) since 2011 and did duties for the Under-15/17/19 tournaments. He was recently active as a standby umpire in the WICB Professional Cricket League (PCL) 4-Day competition.
