Kings, BV Triumph secure hard-fought wins in U17 football

Victoria Kings and Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph claimed hard-fought victories when the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) leg of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power Under-17 Championship continued yesterday.

Hosted at the BV ground, Victoria Kings downed Buxton Stars by a 2-1 score line. Kareem Josiah recorded a double in the second and 28th minutes respectively while Shamar Scott scored for the loser in the 33rd minute.

On the other hand, home side BV/Triumph edged Ann’s Grove by a 3-2 margin. Jemar Robinson, Daquan France and Omari Glasgow scored in the 10th, 70th and 72nd minutes respectively.

On target in the loss were Randy Hamilton and Shamar Brandon in the 54th and 65th minutes correspondingly. Each victory is worth three points while a drawn encounter is worth one point each for both teams. A loss translates to zero points. Action in the event is programmed to continue on June 25th and 26th.
