Young Ramdhani gets better of his father

Action in the mixed doubles final between Narayan and Priyanna Ramdhani and Jonathan Mangra and Ambika Ramraj.

As expected Narayan Ramdhani and partner Jonathan Mangra defeated Gokarn Ramdhani and Nicholas Ali to win the men’s doubles final of the Guyana Olympic Association Open badminton tournament which concluded Monday at the National Gymnasium.

The younger Ramdhani and his partner won the final 21-14, 21-17.

Narayan then teamed up with his sister Priyanna to defeat Mangra and Ambika Ramraj 21-8, 21-15 in the mixed doubles final.

Mangra and Ramraj had defeated Cecil Abrams and Kara Abrams 21-10, 21-13, in the mixed doubles semi-final.

Meanwhile, the presentation of prizes will take place Saturday at Olympic House, High street, Kingston from 1:30pm.

The first four finishers in each category will receive prizes, a release from the GBA stated.

Olympic Day worldwide is observed each year on June 23 and National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in celebrate the occasion on the Sunday closest to that day.

Olympic Day is the only annual worldwide event of the Olympic Movement. The majority of the NOCs on the five (5) continents take advantage of the occasion to share the Olympic spirit with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
