Khan wins Andrew Arts chess tournament

Candidate Master Taffin Khan won the Andrew Arts Memorial chess tournament after prevailing in a tiebreak with Haifeng Su.

According to a press release, the two players, who drew their fourth round encounter, each ended on six and one half points out of a possible seven.

Candidate Master Anthony Drayton placed third in the seven round Swiss system event organized by the Guyana Chess Federation.

According to the release, the GCF congratulated the players who were awarded prizes for their exceptional play in the  event and also  extended congratulations to all the chess players who participated in the tournament. The GCF also thanked Andrew Arts for their generous sponsorship, for which this tournament would not have been possible, the release stated.
