Leal dominates 35-lap feature event

Another race, another win for Team Evolution

Yesterday in perfect conditions for racing at the National Park, Raul Leal sprinted off with the spoils of the feature 35-lap event of the Malta Supreme 11-race programme.

The Team Evolution standout led Paul DeNobrega and Raphael Leung onto the podium in his sixth win of the season and Evolution’s 27th in the 34 senior events staged so far.

Mark Harris, Andre Green and Junior Niles completed the top six in the grueling event Leal won in one hour, 19 minutes and 36 seconds.

Before taking home the winner’s trophy, Leal pocketed half of the eight sprint prizes.

Other winners yesterday included: Andrew Hicks (Juveniles), Junior Niles (Veteran’s U-50), Raymond Newton (Veteran’s O-50), Nicholas Alphonso (Mountain Bike), Adelie Hodge (BMX Boys and Girls 12-14), Alex Leung (BMX Boys 6-9) and Sherwin Sampson (BMX 9-12 and 12-14).

The cycling season continues this morning on the outer circuit of the National Park.
