Champion of Champions dominoes tournament commences today

The first of a series of Champion of Champions dominoes tournament involving teams which have won or placed second in dominoes tournaments gets underway today at 1223 Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt.

Organised by Mark Wiltshire, senior organizing secretary of the Georgetown Dominoes Association (GDA), the tournament will see the top team receiving $175,000, trophies and medals.

The second and third placed teams will receive $60,000 and $20,000 while the Player of the Finals will receive $5000.

The tournament is being sponsored by Strikers Sports Bar, Faye Joseph, Big Boss Trucking Service and Dynasty’s Sports Bar and entrance fee is $12,000 per team.

The competition will get underway at 3pm.

Among the teams expected to participate are Mix Up, Gangsters, Transport, Killers, Strikers, NA Killers, C7, Frankie, Rage, Scramblers, F and H, All Seasons, GT Slammers, Spartans, Specialist, Phantom, Falcons, Royals, and In Time.

All GNDA rules will be in effect and teams are asked to walk with a good pack of dominoes.
