Contrasting wins for Pouderoyen, Eagles

Pouderoyen FC and Eagles FC secured contrasting wins when the Stag Beer sponsored West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Senior League continued yesterday at the Den Amstel ground.

Pouderoyen maintained their unbeaten record in the event as they claimed a 1-0 win over Golden Warriors. Quesi Alleyne recorded the only conversion in the matchup as he found the back of the net in the eighth minute of a cagey affair.

Alleyne made his presence felt as he tapped home into the centre of the net after an initial freekick from Anthony Harding was parried into his path by the custodian, allowing the forward to slot home unchallenged.

Meanwhile, Eagles FC blitzed their way past Vege Boys 10-1. Orlanzo Henry recorded a hat-trick in the fourth, 59th and 68th minute while Chris Macey also scored three times in the 21st, 55th and 71st minute.

Recording a double in the assault was Colin Henry in the 25th and 29th minute while Daniel Clarke and Stephon Griffith scored in the 30th and 50th minute respectively. For the loser, Shamar Marcus scored in the 73rd minute.
