NA Warriors whip Ithaca Hardliners

New Amsterdam (NA) Warriors whipped Ithaca Hardliners 70-31 when the A. Ally & Son’s basketball championships continued Sunday at the New Amsterdam Basketball Hardcourt in Berbice.

Kwesi Mickle top scored for the home side with 27 points while Shamar Prince and Jermaine King scored 19 and eight points respectively.

No player reached double figures for the losing team but Phillip Edward and Keston Sinclair scored nine points each while Royan Solomon scored five.

The home side was in command of the matchup throughout with the first quarter ending with the hosts leading 9-2.

At half time the hosts were ahead 32-10 after a 23-8 second quarter romp.

Warriors maintained their lead scoring 15 points to their opponent’s six points to enter the final period leading 47-16 and they sealed the lopsided contest with another offensive blitz scoring 23 points to Hardliners 15.

NA Warriors earned three points for the win.

The action will resume on Sunday with Smythfield Rockers opposing Rose Hall Town Jammers at the Rose Hall Basketball court from 16:00hrs.

Trophies and Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams while the Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy will also be up for grabs.
