Pouderoyen in 8-1 mauling of Beavers

Undefeated Pouderoyen clinched their fifth win of the Stag Beer sponsored West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) senior league, mauling Beavers 8-1 Saturday at the Den Amstel ground.

The contest was over in the first 30 minutes as Beavers conceded four unanswered goals.

To add insult to injury, one of their players, Clive Anderson received a red card in the 21st minute for using abusive language to the official.

Esan Nelson opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Kwesi Alleyne increased the lead two minutes later.

Alleyne made it 3-0 with an 18th minute strike while Dwayne St. Kitts netted in the 30th minute.

The rout continued in the second period as Morgan Denny netted in the 57th minute followed by Nelson two minutes later to complete his double. Beavers eventually netted a consolation through Glenroy Semple in the 69th minute.

That proved to be a brief respite as St. Kitts fired in two more goals to seal his hat-trick in the 71st and 73rd minute.

Fellow Pouderoyen-based Young Achievers defeated Wales FC 4-1. Marvin Josiah scored twice in the 21st and 47th minute while Lexroy Mansfield and Stephan Jupiter scored in the 25th and 32nd minute respectively.

For the losing team, Trevon Johnson scored in the 17th minute.

Meanwhile, Joslyn Small of Stewartville FC will be suspended for a game due to the accumulation of yellow cards. This was conveyed by the coordinators of the tournament.
