Hemraj Resaul won the U18 boys singles title while Joshua Kalekyezi took the U14 category when the Bakewell Junior Open lawn tennis championships continued at the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) courts Wednesday.
Resaul battled past Mark McDonald 6-4, 6/7 (7/2) 10/6 while Kalekyezi brushed aside Viraj Sharma 5-3, 4-2.
In the U18 semi-final, Resaul defeated Kalekyezi 6/4 6/3 while McDonald whipped Shimron Lewis 6/0 6/1.
In the U14 semi-finals, Kalekyezi edged Jordan Beaton 5/4(7-2), 4/2 while Sharma downed Vijay Sharma 4/1 4/2
In the boys U12 semi-finals, Jeremiah Kalekyezi crushed Adesh Khayyam 4/1 4/1 and Vadeanand Resaul squeaked past Nigel Lowe 4/1 2/4 (10/5).
