Floodlights in five-wicket defeat of Bush Lot United

Floodlights fashioned a nail-biting five-wicket win over Bush Lot United Sports Club Friday night in their T/20 match played under lights at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground.

More renowned for their reputation in the softball version of the game, Floodlights successfully chased 143 to win off the final ball after restricting their opponents to 143/7 earlier.

Floodlights was led by MVP Uniss Yusuf who smoked six fours and fours sixes in his 53 while his fellow opening partner Ramo Malone was the next best scorer with 31.

Captain Rajbance Hemraj bagged 3-34 while Joel Dilchand chipped in with 1-34 bowling for Bush Lot United Sports Club who were indebted to   Agar Matabheek who struck four fours and two sixes in his top  score of 40.

Matabheek added a 56-run partnership with Kris Ramnarine who hit a pair of sixes in his 21 which was followed up by a cameo from Hemraj who cracked two fours and a six in his 29. Rabindra Singh was the man of the moment when he scored the winning run for his team.

At the presentation ceremony Hemraj was given the best player award for Bush Lot United SC while Yusuf took the similar prize for the

winners who received their trophy which was sponsored by the Trophy Stall of Bourda Market.
