Seejatan fired up for season ending motor racing c/ships

Speed demon Shan Seejatan is all fired up and ready to put pedal to the medal when Guyana hosts the finale of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships (CMRC) come November 13.

“We are racing against the super Hondas from Trinidad and Barbados but I am confident that we could match them and beat them” a beaming Seejatan told Stabroek Sport yesterday.

If his Special Auto sponsored Honda Civic matches the speedster who is oozing with confidence, come race day Team Guyana should surely leave the competition in the rear view mirror.

Armed with a newly built engine, the Group 2 ace driver is all geared up for the foreign invasion and promises to defend his back yard, the South Dakota Circuit.

“We built a new 2000cc engine and I’m excited about that” the daredevil exclaimed.

“I ran the first two legs and was very competitive so with the new engine I’m sure we will bring home the bacon, we will be ready for the Honda Challenge.”

Seejatan who dominated last November noted that he hopes that the rebuilt engine will give him an edge on his rivals.

“Because of the new engine and of course we are on home turf, this is our back yard. Team Guyana without a doubt will be bringing home the title but personally, I expect to do very good” he assured.

Seejatan’s countrymen will also be aiming to grab the checkered flag but their paddock is united in their belief of the Golden Arrowhead flying high.

“We all are pushing flat out to try and get where we want to be but once Guyana wins we all win.”

The GMR&SC head, Mahendra Boodhoo has encouraged race fans to flock the venue since the racers will put on a must see show.” He added that an entertaining day of thrills, speed and excitement awaits. Boodhoo also noted that the club is “making it better for our fans and spectators to have better viewing as the local racers look to defend home turf.”

GTT, Ansa McAL and Fly Jamaica are already on board with the mega event.
