Three stage cycle road race pedals off this morning

“Barring something catastrophic, the three-stage race will go on as planned since all the logistics are in order,” said Dowridge.

This year’s three-stage fixture essentially replaces the customary ‘Ride For Life’ five-stage road race which is traditionally held when the calendar flips to November.

The event will have a total prize payout to the tune of four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000).

Dowridge noted that the 138.5-mile race will feature two road stages and an individual time trial.

Wheelsmen like the inform Jamal John who has won back-to-back races, Hamza Eastman, Raynauth Jeffrey, Stephano Husbands, Michael Anthony, Marlon Williams, Orville Hinds along with national road race champion, Geron Williams are expected to lead the peloton and battle for podium spots. Today’s race could also see the potential return of star cyclist, Alanzo Greaves who completed his one-year ban on Tuesday.

Meanwhile race official Joseph Britton is requesting that cyclists pick up their race numbers before this morning’s first stage.  The distribution of numbers commences at 6:30am.
