(The Sports Xchange) Stephen Curry rebounded from his first game without a 3-pointer in almost two years by sinking an NBA-record 13 from beyond the arc during a 46-point performance Monday night, leading the Golden State Warriors to a 116-106 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.
After his 157-game stretch with at least one 3-pointer was snapped when he went 0-for-10 against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, Curry finished 13 of 17 from beyond the arc Monday. He broke the record of 12 3-pointers that was set by Kobe Bryant in 2003 and tied by Donyell Marshall two years later.
Klay Thompson finished with 24 points on 11-of-20 shooting, and Kevin Durant added 22 points for the Warriors. Davis led the Pelicans with 33 points and 13 rebounds.
Clippers 114, Pistons 82
Chris Paul had 24 points, eight assists and six rebounds, and Los Angeles crushed Detroit.
J.J. Redick scored 20 points for the Clippers, who beat the Pistons for the 11th consecutive time. Blake Griffin had 13 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for Los Angeles, which won its third straight overall.
Rockets 114, Wizards 106
James Harden scored 14 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter and finished with 15 assists as Houston pushed back scuffling Washington.
Washington guard John Wall had 21 points and eight assists on the night he passed Wes Unseld for the franchise’s assists record. He was ejected with 33 seconds remaining after receiving his second technical foul. Bradley Beal and Otto Porter each scored 20 points for the Wizards.
Hornets 122, Pacers 100
Kemba Walker had 24 points and 10 assists in less than three quarters of action, and the Hornets won their third straight game. Charlotte (5-1) is off to the best start in franchise history.
The Hornets reversed a season-long trend of slow starts and erupted for 43 first-quarter points, hitting 11 of their first 13 shots from the field and scoring on their first 12 possessions.
. Jazz 109, 76ers 84
Gordon Hayward scored 20 points and Derrick Favors had season highs of 16 points and 14 rebounds as the Jazz won easily.
Rodney Hood added 18 points for Utah, which won for the fourth time in five games despite the absence of veteran point guard George Hill. Jahlil Okafor notched 15 points and Joel Embiid had 14 points and nine rebounds for Philadelphia, which fell to 0-6.
Bulls 112, Magic 80
Coming off a lethargic loss, Chicago emphatically ended its three-game losing streak with a victory against Orlando at the United Center.
Jimmy Butler led the charge for the Bulls, who broke the game open by outscoring Orlando 27-11 in the third quarter. Butler had nine points and three steals in the third and finished with a game-high 20 points to go with seven assists, four steals and five rebounds.
Thunder 97, Heat 85
Enes Kanter scored 24 points off the bench to lead Oklahoma City to a victory over Miami at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Kanter shot 10 of 12 from the floor and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line while hauling in 10 rebounds in only 18 minutes of action. Victor Oladipo scored 17 points while rookie Domantas Sabonis scored a career-high 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Thunder guard Russell Westbrook had his lowest scoring output of the season with 14 points. But he handed out 11 assists, which was more than all of the Heat starters combined.
