Trisco and Central Service advance to next round

Trisco and Central Service sealed their berths to the next round in the Banks DIH Limited Inter-Department Soft Ball Cricket Tourney, defeating Brewery and Water Plant respectively on Wednesday.

Staged at the Thirst Park ground, Trisco crushed Brewery by 37 runs. Asked to bat first, Trisco racked up an imposing total of 142-6 in their allotted 10 overs. N. Jadunauth smashed his way to 55 runs (5x6s, 2x4s) while Eron Hayde chipped in with an unbeaten 32 (2x6s, 3x4s).

For the bowlers, Eustus Hinds recorded 2-26 in three overs, while Rayon Barnwell claimed 1-12. In reply, Brewery were bowled out for 105 in 9.4 overs. B. Maxwell and Mobiano King led the way with 26 and 24 runs, respectively.Josiah led the bowlers with figures of 3-23 in 2.4 overs, while I. Rahaman claimed 3-33 in three overs.

In the second fixture, Central Service defeated Water Plant by 16 runs. Central Service posted 89-3 in 10 overs, with Jermin Medas scoring 39 runs (3×6, 4×4). The next best scorer with 15 runs, was R. Woolford. For the bowlers, Junior John recorded 2-8 in one over.

In pursuit, Water Plant could only muster 73 for the loss of two wickets. Adrian Adams battled to 40 runs (2×6, 4×4), while Jermin Forde contributed 14 runs.
