Some of the stars of this year’s National Schools Cycling, Swimming and Track and Field Championships were among the recipients of racing watches compliments of  the Guyana Committee of Services, a USA based organization.

Ira Lewis, popularly known as ‘Lady Ira’ presented 40 watches to athletes and coaches after the curtain came down on the National Championships last night at the National Stadium.

The USA based Guyanese who is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Guyana America Heritage Founda-tion, stated that “We believe that time is of the essence and everything starts with time, so it was fitting for us to reward these athletes with watches.”

Lewis then congratulated the athletes who competed at the fixture and urged them to continue to develop their talents and use them in a positive way.

Samuel Lynch, Kissanna Glen, Claudrice McKoy and Delroy Leitch were some of the standout athletes who received the time pieces.
