PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Only 35 overs were possible on Sunday’s third day as rain continued to wreak havoc on the third around encounter in the Regional Four-Day Championship between Trinidad and Tobago Red Force and Leeward Islands Hurricanes.

Resuming the day on 173 for four, Red Force made it to 287 for seven before the adverse weather arrived in the second session to rule out play for the remainder of the day.

Umpires flirted with a restart in the final session but then ruled the outfield at Queen’s Park Oval unfit for play.

In the limited play possible, however, Roshon Primus further enhanced his credentials as an all-rounder with an unbeaten 42 while Jyd Goolie got 23 and Yannic Cariah, 20.

With Red Force losing wickets steadily, Primus came to his side’s rescue, blasting five fours in an entertaining 66-ball knock as he first put on 45 for the eighth wicket with Imran Khan (18) and a further 26 with Khary Pierre (15 not out) an unbroken ninth wicket partnership.

Slow bowler and captain Kieran Powell has so far taken three for 29 while off-spinner Rahkeem Cornwall has claimed two for 73.
