Lopsided wins for Botofago, Kwakwani Strikers

Botofago and Kwakwani Strikers scored lopsided wins over Blueberry Hill and Milerock respectively when the fourth annual GT Beer football tournament continued Thursday at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground in Linden.

Botofago brushed aside Blueberry Hill 3-1 with Kelon Primo recording a brace on in the 19th and 56th minute while Jevon LaFleur netted in the 71st minute.

Rene Gibbons scored the consolation goal in the 21st minute for Blueberry Hill.

Meanwhile, Kwakwani Strikers downed Milerock 2-0 with Kishawn Phillips and Cort Simeon scoring in the 18th and 53rd minute each.

The event resumes tomorrow at the same venue with another doubleheader. In the opening fixture at 18:00hrs, defending champ Winners Connection will tackle Hi-Stars while the feature contest will pit Milerock against Silver Shattas at 20:00hrs.
